36 countries that issue eVisas to Egyptian citizens
An electronic visa (eVisa) and an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) are digital travel permits required for entry into the country. Both these permits are issued and processed online.
The online process of applying for an electronic visa varies from country to country. In general, applicants enter their personal data and upload required documents, such as scans of a passport and their photos, and pay visa fees.
Officials evaluate the application and approve or deny a visa. The assessment process varies by country and typically takes 15 to 30 business days. The system generates a visa and sends it to the holder’s email address if the visa is approved.

Most popular tourist destinations among Egyptian passport holders
Even though Egypt itself is a big tourist spot, Egyptians go abroad on holidays, too. They prefer the UAE, Turkey and other eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia.
Most Egyptian citizens prefer local resorts, such as Mersa Matruh or El Alamein, which are not far from Alexandria. Close to Cairo, Ain-Sokhna is also popular with the locals.
Egypt citizenship by investment: available options
Prosperous foreigners may obtain Egypt citizenship by investment within a period of 6—12 months. There are four investment options, starting at $250,000.
1. Non-refundable contribution. Investors donate $250,000 or more to the State’s Public Treasury. The investor may make a contribution in parts during the year.
2. Real estate purchase. Investors can buy either commercial or residential property. It is also possible to buy a land lot. The property may be in operation or under construction.
The price of a property item has to start at $300,000. However, this option allows the return on the invested money: five years after obtaining Egypt citizenship, it is possible to sell the property.
3. Business investment. To fulfil this investment option, an applicant has to start a business in Egypt or buy a local company. The investment, in this case, starts from $350,000. This option is also refundable: the investor can have a return on investment five years after obtaining citizenship.
Apart from the mentioned sum, the investor makes a non-refundable contribution of $100,000 to the State’s public treasury.
4. Bank deposit. Investors open an account at the Central Bank of Egypt. This deposit is interest-free. The sum of the investment is $500,000. Still, the return on the investment is available three years after obtaining citizenship.

Egypt passport renewal
An Egyptian passport is valid for seven years after being issued. To renew an Egyptian passport, a citizen has to go to the Department of the Ministry of Interior Administration of Passports, Immigration and Nationality in Egypt or visit an Egyptian Consulate in another country.
One who needs to have a passport renewed has to submit the following documents:
their valid Egyptian passport;
an Egyptian National ID;
3 recent photos with a white background;
men have to provide a certificate of their military status if it is not stated in their current passport;
women, having changed their marital status, have to present a marriage, divorce or a spouse’s death certificate.
The Egyptian passport renewal takes about eight weeks. The fees depend on the country where the Consulate is situated and, as a rule, are around $350.
Immigrant Invest lawyers remind the passport holder that it’s time to renew the document and help settle the renewal issues. We accompany the applicant during the whole process.
